GB64 Recommended Games...

Zork I - The Great Underground Empire
Steve says: first-ever "interactive-fiction"-product from infocom and the most popular text adventure ever, written in 1981; Infocom essentially invented the wheel to fit the limitations of the day. Flawed by current standards, but still a remarkable achievement. You, the adventurer, stumble on the remains of the Great Underground Empire, and seek out the treasures hidden there.

First Samurai
Neo-Rio says: This game is a HUGE scrolling platformer... if you are platform game fanatic, this quality game is for you.

Tank
J2003C says: This game CAN be played 2P with the 2nd player as the turrent controller on keyboard. Either way, the variety of weapons and enemies make this a very enjoyable shooter!

Rock'n Roll
Neo-Rio says: This playable little puzzle game is a cross between "Gauntlet" and "Marble Madness". You can even get money and power up your little ball. And the music is great "Rock 'n' Roll" to boot!

Platoon
Matt Larsen says: This is one of the games I actually BOUGHT that wasn't pirated. Hours upon hours of gameplay and I could never get past the end stage! The different themes and music make this game quite an experience.

Friday the 13th
Neo-Rio says: Terrible graphics and pokey sound are in stark contrast to when digitized slasher pics and horrific screams come out of the C64. This game was shocking in more ways than one.

Impossible Mission
Pugsy says: Stay a while, stay forever could become Play a while, play forever. Once you've finished the game you will keep coming back for seconds and finish it again and again and yet still enjoy it.

Arnie Armchair's Howzat Cricket Game
Neo-Rio says: One of the first games I played on the C64 as it came in the box. Fondly remembered for it's annoying title tune ditty, and the thrashings my family members took at it.

Super Gridder
Neo-Rio says: A simple little addictive game. Not much more to say than that. It's even more fun when you disable sprite collision play the game completely unchallenged....
