Demobase Amiga shows literally nothing.

Dear friends,

as you can read above, it is more a setup problem of the demobase amiga. Don´t know if i am correct here...

I would like to have following problem :) ...

I am still trying to set up this frontend, pretty sure the paths are correctly set because the verification shows zero missings, ... BUT:

It shows ...: NOTHING !

No demos, no screenshots, only the default "demobase" screenshot by .mad and another guy ;) !

Is there a log-file containing eventual errors and where can i find it ?! Need help by you fellas ...

you have zero missing files in the verify?
demos
screens

so that only leaves the emulator paths and configs.

script file and winuae.ini will check for the path to kickstart roms.
lines like this example...

Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\Scripts\HDF.uae||kickstart_rom||v2.05)
Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\Scripts\HDF.uae||kickstart_rom_file||%dbpath%\Scripts\KICK205.rom)
Set_CFG_Value(%dbpath%\Scripts\HDF.uae||kickstart_rom_file_id||83028FB5,KS ROM v2.05 (A600))

the above shows it wants the file "KICK205.rom" in the amiga demobase scripts folder.
it must be named exactly like that shown in your demobase script, and same goes for all the other kickstarts.
kick12.rom
kick13.rom
kick31.rom
kick30.rom

winuae.ini - has this relative path set to the kickstart (the same scripts folder).
KickstartPath=..\..\Scripts\

the kickstart roms are not included in this 10GB download pack
https://archive.org/details/Amiga_Demobase_Version_3

so i guess, that's the problem.
they are missing??.

Thank you very much for your reply, dear .mad !

I think you got me wrong ... Sorry for my bad expression, i am not an English native :(.

What i really mean is the missing listing of the clickable demonames, i mean ...:

When i start it up, the menu appears, but there are no choosable demos, just plain and a blank menus without any screenshots !

Kickstarts are detected ...

Perhaps re-downloading may solve the problem; seems that some or one file is missing ?

What do you think ?!

open the paths.ini file in a text editor.
it should look a little bit like this...

Code: Select all

[Games]
1=C:\GameBase\Demobase Amiga v3\amiga demos
2=C:\GameBase\Demobase Amiga v3\HDF Demos
3=
[Pictures]
1=C:\GameBase\Demobase Amiga v3\screenshots
2=
[Extras]
1=C:\GameBase\Demobase Amiga v3\extras
2=
check and edit the drive letter and paths to your demobase collection.

now open the emulators.ini file in the demobase folder...

Code: Select all

[Emulators]
1=WinUAE
[WinUAE]
UseShortFilenames=0
SupportedTypes=ADF;IPF;HDF;ISO;CUE
EmulatorPathFile=C:\GameBase\Demobase Amiga v3\Emulators\WinUAE\winuae.exe
ScriptFile=Amiga.txt
check the "EmulatorPathFile" line for the emulator, so it matches YOUR emulator path.

run the demobase
and select verify files this from the menu.

Thanks, .mad !

I am feeling ashamed in admitting the TRUE reason for my mistake !

Settings of the inis were correct, made another verification of them, AND ... :

STILL no luck, just a blank menu, BUT:

THE FILTER WAS ALWAYS ON "MUSICDEMOS" !!!!

Changed it to "all demos" and voila, there they are !!!

I feel noobier than noob !!

Anyways, thx again for your always fast replies !!!!!
