The easiest way is to use the emulators' snapshot function, which saves the game exactly where you left off. In VICE, use the menu, and in CCS64, use F12 (or Alt+F12) to save and F11 (or Alt+F11) to load. To save using the in-game save, then you need to use the emulator menus to select a save disk (d64).
