Would it be at all possible since Game Base now supports .7z files if we could have a feature whereby if I have my Game Base already done with all the games listed but they aren't in .7z format because it didn't support these files when I created it.. that if I manually unzipped them and re-zipped them into .7z format that Game Base would then be able to recognize them? I mean the game names would remain the exact same the only difference being they are now .7z files.. because having to unzip all the games and re-zip them using .7z and than on top of that having to manually re-hook up each individual game is a major time suck.
Thank you for your time

It will automatically convert all .zip files to .7z archives... Plus there's the benefit of torrent sharing if anybody else has the zips already they will make the exact same 7z files as you did.

Re: Game Base Suggestion
Converting from zip into 7z should not be a major issue, you do not need to do it manually. Download t7z from sourceforge, it's a tiny program and all you have to do is in file explorer to select all the zip files and rag and drop them onto the t7z.exe.Flarp wrote:Would it be at all possible since Game Base now supports .7z files if we could have a feature whereby if I have my Game Base already done with all the games listed but they aren't in .7z format because it didn't support these files when I created it.. that if I manually unzipped them and re-zipped them into .7z format that Game Base would then be able to recognize them? Perfect! Just watch I was looking for, I have over 20,000 zip files, and after getting sick of doing it one by one manually, I found a program called Peazip which more or less did the job, but I found it slow, and it didn't preserve the original filenames, which was a pain for rename everything back all the time, hardly saved time at all, but t7z does the job quickily and perfectly!

Thanks for the link to t7z that is helpful and I like how it automatically deletes the original files when it's done but I still would like Game Base itself to simply realize that all the games ares still there with the exact same file names except they are now .7z otherwise I still have to go through by hand for each game and re-hook them up.. this is especially a pain when it is a Game Base of mine that uses numbers for games.. ex GB,GBC,GBA,NDS as I don't remember what number corresponds to which file and it's a huge pain. I think it should be simple enough to have Game Base just be able to change the file extension it is looking for though I'm not a programmer =) and I have had zero luck figuring out the .mdb editor.

You should be able to just open the mdb files in MS Access and then do a simple find and replace in the games table to replace .zip with .7z.
If you PM me the links to the .mdbs and your email address I try and do it for you.
