BBC4 database help

Wed May 13, 2015 12:39 pm

Hi.

Whilst looking through my emulator databases area of uninstalled
databases. I came across the BBC4 one that i had not installed.

I have now installed it, but when run it comes up with:

GameBase needs to update your database to version 2.8 with a
yes or no. I click on the yes button and then get the error:

Error updating your database! Your database may be corrupt.
Error in loading DLL (48,0).

I have tested all the files in the archive and do not get any
errors.

If anyone could give me any help on this problem, i would be
very gratefull.

Thanks.

The error occurs because your BBC gamebase was made for GameBase v1.2.

once you update the BBC.MDB file to GameBase v1.3,
run GBToolbox v1.3 and select scan and fix errors on the BBC.MDB file.

That should fix it.

The file will update automatically when run in GameBase v1.3
* if not you have a corrupt gamebase install.

run "GBToolbox.exe"
it's located in the GameBase install folder.

when it's open right click on the BBC.mdb file in the menu.
then select scan and fix errors.

if you like BBC Micro?
You should look for AcornMania v2.1.
This is the latest version of the BBC Gamebase and it contains Acorn Electron games as well.
